Introduction to Nursing.
This is a ten week course outlining the different roles within the Nursing Sector and what you need to do to pursue a career in Nursing.
The following 9 points are the main topics covered in the course.
• Definitions/ dimensions of health
• History of nursing/ NHS
• Current legislation affecting nursing practice
• Basic nursing skills
• Introduction to Health & Safety at work related to nursing
• Issues / legislation related to privacy and confidentiality of clients
• Roles of other health professionals
• Introduction to specialisms in nursing
• Hospital care and move towards community care
You will be assessed on the work done during the course so there is no formal examination. At the end of the course students will be awarded with the Open College Credits at the appropriate level if they so wish, which we help you on your way if you what to find a career in Nursing. The cost of the course is £24.00 (£10 deposit required before start date).
